Our First Week In Year 1! Look how hard we are working...
We are artists! After reading the story 'The Colour Monster' we enjoyed exploring how to mix colours by creating our own colour wheel. We then used this skill to make our own colour monster paintings for our corridor display - doesn't it look fantastic?
This week we are learning all about Seasons and the weather! We have been on an Autumn walk around the school and tool pictures of all the lovely autumnal colours. We have been exploring the seasons in the classroom in different ways too.
Making Delicious Apple Crumble
We had a fantastic morning making apple and blackberry crumble with our friends! In class, we have been talking a lot about seasonal produce. To make our crumble, we worked hard on our peeling and chopping skills ready to mix our fruits together. Then we layered with lots of crumble mix and baked it in the oven. It was so very yummy!
Oh no! Someone has been in our classroom over the weekend! We have spent the morning investigating the clues and think that it might be...... the GRUAFFALO! We have been busy writing WANTED posters to put up around school to warn others that there may be a Gruffalo on the loose! We will keep you posted if we see or hear anything else!
Panic over! Golden Bear has safely been returned to the class. He has had a lovely time with the Gruffalo and they have been playing hide and seek! We have really enjoyed this week and it has inspired our writing!
We are designers! We have been designing, making and evaluating our own chairs using the junk modelling equipment!
