Whole Class Guided Reading

The Great Fire of London πŸ”₯

Time Travelling

Today we enjoyed travelling back in time to 355 years ago!

A special visitor came into class, he was exhausted from fighting the Great Fire of London for 4 days.  He saw a plume of smoke and went to help…

We loved learning all about his adventures back in 1666!

This afternoon, we enjoyed building wooden houses, exploring objects from the past and finding the materials they were made from, playing with toys from the past and a fire 1666 game.

Tudor London

We loved our Great Fire of London re-enactment! We recreated pudding Lane where the fire began in 1666 πŸ”₯

We took our Tudor houses outdoors and watched the small spark start the fire and spread across the houses, just like it did on the 2nd of September in 1666!

We enjoyed learning all about Samuel Pepys and exploring his account of the Great Fire of London through his famous diaries.

We imagined being transported back in time using our senses and imagining what life might have been like for Samuel Pepys, at the time of the Great Fire, before finally writing his diary entry for Sunday 2nd September 1666.

Morecambe Fire Service visit- the children were a credit to us! Fantastic πŸ‘
