Santa Dash 2021🎅We warmed up to the 12 moves of Christmas. Next we completed our Santa dash looking very festive. Please send in any remaining sponsor money by the end of term.

The Great Fire of London
We were amazed today by our amazing visitor, Adrian. He took us time travelling back to 1666 and showed us what happened during the Great Fire of London. We loved hearing his story and were blown away by the fantastic artefacts we got to explore. A huge thank you to all your contributions towards this.
Today we re-enacted the Fire of London. The children were very brave choosing to burn their own creations!

Today year 2 had a visit from Morecambe fire service. The children were given some leaflets. Please discuss these with your child. The children were a credit to us! Fantastic 👏
In RE, we have been thinking about how we feel when we receive a gift. Can you guess our emotion from our facial expressions?
Look at our super subtraction. We are learning how to practically subtract a one digit from a two digit number by exchanging.
We are now adding 2 digit numbers and crossing the ten. Everyone is working so hard to master this new method.
Traction Man
Our mystery story has been revealed - it is Traction Man! We loved getting into role and thinking about how the characters were feeling in the story.

Amazing addition
Year 2 have been practising their amazing addition skills this week. They are beginning to explore adding 2 digit and one digit numbers together using base ten in a place value grid and they have been fantastic!
Rosa Parks
This week, we have been immersing ourselves in to Black History month and we have been focusing on the inspirational woman Rosa Parks. We have learned about her life and the changes she courageously fought for. The children loved role playing the incident on the bus and created amazing fact files all about her.
In Maths, we have been recapping how to count in 5s and developing our reasoning and explanation skills.
We have been learning to represent numbers in different ways, using different equipment and jottings.
We have been using our computing skills on Purple Mash to insert an Aimee of an animal and type a caption. Great work, 2MD

We have been learning about Marcus Rashford who we all agreed is an inspirational person. We think he is amazing. We had our own football tournament. This was fun!
