KS1 Diwali

Diwali is the Hindu 'Festival of Lights' and is celebrated by Hindus and Sikhs in Britain and all over the world. This festival falls on different days each year, usually celebrated in the  month of October or November.  

 

Year 1 and 2 have enjoyed learning all about the traditions and celebrations of Diwali.  The children from each colour group came together to take part in lots of exciting activities to celebrate the festival of Diwali.  We enjoyed learning how to make Rangoli and Mendhi patterns, trying out Indian dancing and sculpting our own diva lamps!
