Bee Bot adventures

Sports Day!

Some brilliant cake baking!!

We enjoyed a walk around Torrisholme where we discussed all of the features of our local area. We saw a bus stop, lamp posts, double decker buses, for sale signs, road signs, shops and lots more!

We enjoyed visiting the Year 6's Science Fair this week - it was lots of fun! We tested our many different experiments and activities.

Today, the whole school welcomed the Commonwealth Baton!

We enjoyed the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations. We made our own crowns to wear for our picnic. We also enjoyed a jubilee photobooth in class!

The Reading Fairy came into school to deliver some reading workshops. We joined in with songs, acted our stories, followed a story map and had lots of fun!

We invited our parents in for a picnic! We shared the gingerbread biscuits that we made and looked through our literacy books together. We then gave out grown ups a tour of our classroom - it was fun! Thank you to everyone who came along.

We made our own gingerbread men as part of our Traditional Tales topic. We are looking forward to sharing them with our grown ups at a picnic.

We drew pictures of the Queen in preperation for her Platinum Jubilee

We have been enjoying our Zumba sessions. We have learnt dance moves to music, used sticks to beat in time with the music and danced with scarves and shakers.

We enjoyed a visit from a vet, 2 dogs and 2 Guinea pigs!

British Science Week! We have been scientists this week! We carried out lots of different science experiments. We tested different materials to see which objects float or sink. We made raisins dance using lemonade. We explored how skittles and water can show colour mixing. We explored how to freeze water to make ice lollies.

Spring has sprung! We enjoyed taking photos of buds and flowers.

We've enjoyed visits from a fire fighter, nurse and police officer! They told us all about their jobs and what equipment they need to do. It was so much fun!

World Book Day! We enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters, sharing lots of stories during the day and writing our own stories.

People Who Help Us Day! We all came to school dressed up in what we would like to be when we are older. We had lots of children wanting to be vets, doctors, nurses, builders, teachers. We even had princesses, the tooth fairy and batman.

Safer Internet Day - 8th February 2022

In class we have shared Buddy the dog's story all about keeping safe online. He told us lots of information and a song about how to stay safe.

"Ask your grown up, ask your grown up,

Ask for help, ask for help,

Use your tablet safely, Use your tablet safely,

Woof, Woof, Woof!"

We know to ask a grown up for help if something pops up or if someone messages us. If we want to download a new app, we must ask our grown up too. Also, we know not to talk to strangers online.

Take a look at our useful online safety tips!

The Big Little Nativity!

We LOVED our first school trip to Greenlands Farm. We got to see lots of animals which was really fun. We planted some seeds and have now taken these home to look after.

The children had a lovely time this afternoon working with Year 6 to make poppies for our hall remembrance display. The children were fantastic and loved working with each other. We can’t wait to do it again very soon. 😃
