Literacy
Today we are going to move away from the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and start learning about real bears - not the ones that live in a house and eat porridge! You are going to watch the clip linked below and then write down 5 facts that you have found out about bears! As always with our writing - remember to use a capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop at the end. We can't wait to read what you have found out Year 1!
Maths
Today we are going to learn about money! We are going to look at 2p's, 5p's and 10p's to help us practice counting on in steps of 2, 5 and 10. I have included a link to a great money game that you can play. In your paper pack you will find some activities (pictured below) for you to complete too.
Challenge: Using the 2p, 5p and 10p coin sheets (in your paper pack) can you count out different amounts e.g. can you give your grown up 45p using the 5p coins? Good luck with all your money work Year 1 - we know you will be great!
Topic - Music Time!
Today's challenge is to create your own homemade instrument using items from your home! You could create a shaker by using pasta/rice and empty bottles or you could try to create your own recorder by using a straw and cutting holes in it. Don't worry if you don't have anything to make an instrument - you could always use items in your house to create your own piece of music e.g. upturned pans. Explore the different sound patterns you can make e.g. long sound, short sound, long sound, short sound. Please send a picture/videos of your musical creations - we can't wait to see and hear them!
Handwriting/Spelling
In your paper pack there is an 'ea' handwriting activity and a Year 1 common exception word bingo game for you to have a go at! Good luck Year 1!
