What are we getting up to in topic work?
Welcome back! We can’t believe this is our final half term of Year 5. We are really looking forward to spending a fun-filled half term with the children.
Our theme for this half term is ‘The Street’. We will be exploring street art, street food and street dance! We are hoping to showcase our work for parents in July so keep your eyes out for information!
6/7/21- Leroy from More Music joined us again today. We are looking forward to our performance!
2/7/21 - Today we took a photo of ourselves and used the outline to make a stencil to create a piece inspired by Banksy’s work.
29/6/21 Using stencils. Today the children experimented with using stencils to create a piece inspired by Banksy. This took a lot of time and perseverance. Well done to all!
28/6/21 - Street Art inspired by Banksy. 5H have started their street art work. Today we used an online resource to create a piece of graffiti with a message. Here are some examples.
Leroy from More Music visited today. We tried beat boxing and started learning and new song. The class really enjoyed the session and are looking forward to showcasing their new skills.
Street Dance! On Monday, we had our first Street Dance session. All the staff were impressed with the children’s moves!
Our rap caps!
Cooking our Street Food! We cooked two types of stuffed peppers today (Mexican and Italian). The children loved chopping, stirring, adding the spices and trying the food.
