Meet the Team

Welcome to the Torrisholme Webpage for families with children who have additonal needs.

At Torrisholme Primary School, we are passionate about supporting all children and families, including those with different needs. 

Your child's class teacher will be planning teaching and learning that is to meet your child's needs. Your child may also receive additonal support from a teaching assistant.

Our team also has a SENDCo, which stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator. This is Mrs. Jo Dowker. 

I work with all of the class teachers and teaching assistants in school to support children who have additonal needs and/or disabilities. I liase with other professionals to support your child so we can give them every opportunity to achieve and flourish in school. These other professionals include paediatricians, school nurses, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, educational psychologist and specialist teachers.

Lancaster & Morecambe Additonal Needs

What's On Guide 2022

There are lots of different groups for children and young people with additional needs to join and enjoy in the Lancaster and Morecambe area. These are on from Monday to Saturday and include activites such as football, the climbing wall at Salt Ayre, and Stay and Play sessions with Unique Kidz; to name just a few. 

There is a Bee Unique Autism Coffee morning for Parents and Carers each month, where you can have a drink, cake, natter and support from others.
