Nature Fun Morning at Morecambe Bay
A group of children had a lovely morning visiting Morecambe Bay Primary School to take part in a morning of nature themed activities. There were some very tasty snacks too!!
A big thank you to Morecambe Bay for inviting us!
Run 4 the World
R4TW is a fun, family event which is taking place on Morecambe promenade on Saturday 14th May. It includes a 2km, 5km and 10km event, all of which can be walked, jogged, run or even pushed (if you're in a pushchair!).
The event supports a number of charities, including those in our community and around the world. A registration fee and optional sponsorship are used to raise funds and everyone who signs up gets their own t-shirt.
There is a primary school prize, which will be awarded to the school with the most participants and everyone (children, staff and parents) all count towards our total.
Last year we had a great turnout, with over 50 members of our school community joining our team and helping us win the shield for the most participants - we would love to see an even greater turnout this year!
Get involved and join our team on the prom on Saturday 14th May!
Go to http://r4tw.org.uk/ for more details or to register.
Everyone is Different, Everyone is Special
Today we spent the day wearing odd socks in all sorts of strange ways to celebrate the fact that everyone is different and everyone is special.
The children celebrated differences in their classes and in a special assembly led by Mrs Crozier.
We also held a cake sale in aid of the Down's Syndrome Association. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and bought cakes - with your help we raised a total of £185!
Sport Relief Action!
To raise money for Sport Relief, the children came to school looking sporty today! And what a good thing that was, as they have been very active!! Children in Reception and Year 2 both took part in dodgeball tournaments, children in Year 1 could be found running around the field and skipping up and down the playground, whilst Year 4 ran the equivalence of all the way to Birmingham!
A big thank you for all your donations - we raised a total of £417.27 for Sport Relief.
How will Cinderella get home?
As part of their topic on fairy tales, Year 1 enjoyed a creative (and a bit messy!) day, designing and making a carriage to get Cinderella home from the ball. Who wouldn't love being picked up in one of these?!
Year 6 Shakespeare Workshop
This morning, our Year 6 classes were treated to a fantastic Shakespeare workshop! See the Year 6 class pages for more details...
Sport Relief 2016
As you will be aware, it is Sport Relief on Friday 18th March. We would like the children to wear something sporty or non-uniform with a sporty accessory! This is also a great opportunity to share any sporting achievements. If your child would like to bring in any photos, vcertificates, medals etc, there will be an opportunity within the day to share them.
Finally, classes will be organising a sporting activity to encourage health and fitness. We are just asking for a donation. Many thanks in advance.
Year 6 Young Voices
Our Year 6 children joined a choir of 7000 other children to perform at the MEN Arena last night! It was an AMAZING night and we have some very sleepy children in school today!
Betty Balloon's Visit!
This afternoon, a very excited audience of children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of story telling from Betty Balloon! Betty used balloon model props to bring a range of stories to life starring lots some of the children as the characters. She also told us some great new stories, based on the plots of traditional stories that we all know and love. A fun-filled afternoon for everyone!
