Y5 Superstars Organise Red Nose Day Sale
These superstars in 5T organised a sale after school, selling cakes, biscuits, book marks, stress balls and running a guess the name of the teddy competition. They raised a whopping £64 for this fabulous cause. Well done, girls - we are all very proud of you!
Red Nose Day!
We have a had a great time celebrating Red Nose Day today! There were lots of very imaginative red outfits and accessories and our cake sale at playtime was super popular! A big thank you to everyone who has donated, especially by sending in cakes - we raised a total of £465 for a great cause.
Odd Socks Day - Down's Syndrome Awareness
It was great to see so many children wearing not just odd socks on their feet today, but socks in all sorts of creative ways! Our socks were to raise awareness of Down's Syndrome and to celebrate the fact that everyone is different - something that is really important to us at Torrisholme.
We had a super assembly with Mrs Crozier who shared the stories of lots of people with Down's Syndrome with us and taught us a fab song about us all being different and special in our own way. Thank you, Mrs Crozier!
Swallows and Amazons Adventure!
A group of children visited Bleasdale House School in Silverdale to take part in a sensory story experience. The story was Swallows and Amazons and included lots of pirate fun! Everyone had a great time!
Swimming Gala
Team Torrisholme had a great night at last night's Morecambe Schools' Swimming Gala, taking third place overall with some superb swimming. See the swimming section of the sports pages for photos and a full write up.

Inclusive Sports Competition
A team of children attended the 'WheelPower Feel Inspired Primary Sports Camp' in Blackpool. We had a fantastic day meeting children from other schools and taking part in a fantastic range of sports, including fencing, golf, boccia and tennis.
We had a go at everything and had loads of fun! There was a presentation at the end of the day where we all received medals for taking part.
We were so proud of the children, who were absolute superstars all day!
School Council Road Safety Competition
As part of our campaign to make the roads outside school safer, the school council have launched a poster competition which is open to all children in Years 1 to 6.
Entries should be handed in to class teachers by Friday 10th March. The school councillors will then judge entries from a shortlist and one winning entry from each class will be blown up onto a banner outside school to encourage drivers to keep our children safe.
We look forward to seeing your entries! The school council are modelling some great examples in the photos!
