Harvest Collection
Tue 21 Oct 2014On Monday, we had a special harvest assembly, along with a collection. We were delighted to see how many families brought in donations of tins and packets of food! We got in touch with the Morecambe Bay Foodbank, who were thrilled to hear from us!
They sent volunteers to school to collect all the donations and some Year 6 children helped to load all the food into the car.
The Foodbank sent us an email to thank everyone for their generosity:

We would like to say a huge thank you for all donations collected this week.
We were delighted today when our volunteers came to collect the food, it was a good job they took a land rover as it filled it. Another team took over here at the foodbank and weighed the food which amounted to 221.9 kg.
In a special room another team then took over and made 8 food parcels to feed 8 families of two adults and two children. Each parcel contains enough food to last over 3 days. Your contribution provided over 300 meals and refreshments which will be distributed over the next few weeks.
You should be very proud of yourselves and we have welcomed your support.

Guinea Pigs' New Home!
Mon 20 Oct 2014Our lucky guinea pigs Nibbles and Rosie have now moved into their fabulous new, open top home in the entrance hall! They love having lots of extra space to run around and can often be spotted snuggled up in their little sleeping bag.

Y6 AT ROBIN WOOD
Mon 06 Oct 2014Y6 had a fabulous weekend at the Robinwood Centre in Todmorden. Activities included raft building, canoeing, caving, zip wires, giant swings - the list is endless! The children were amazing - a credit to Torrisholme! Check out the photos below!
