Christmas Dinner is a Winner!
A big thank you to Karen, our cooks, and all her helpers, who put on a fabulous all singing, all dancing Christmas dinner for us today! Yummy!
Choir Nativity Performance
During our Christmas assembly, we were treated to a beautiful nativity performance by our KS2 Choir. With a number of lovely songs, including beautiful solos and King Herod wearing a white jumpsuit, the performance was a great ending to the term's festivities.
Bye Bye Mrs Bousfield
The children and staff at Torrisholme sent a heartfelt goodbye to Mrs Bousfield today, celebrating with a teddy bears' picnic!
Mrs Bousfield, who loves all things bear and has a huge collection of teddy bears, dressed in her favourite bear suit for the occasion and was received by almost 400 dancing bears!! The children sung a special song and presented Mrs Bousfield with a selection of gifts, including her very own Torrisholme bear!
Singing Club Visit Eric Morecambe House
Children from Miss Lumley's Y2 singing club, accompanied by Mrs Jones and some of her Y6 super singers, visited Eric Morecambe House Care Home to perform a set of Christmas songs for the residents.
The children performed brilliantly and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the show. Afterwards, the children enjoyed juice and biscuits and had a chat to some of the residents.
Foodbank 'Christmas in a Box' Appeal
We are collecting food for the Foodbank's Christmas appeal, to help families who aren't as fortunate as lots of us are, particularly over the Christmas period. Following the recent floods, the Foodbank is under even greater pressure to provide for people in need in the local area.
Each class has a box in their classroom and the children are working as a team to fill the box with as much food as they can.
The superstars in class 1M have already filled their first box!! They're now working on box number two - well done children and your families!
Donations can come from the 'Christmas List', (see below) or can be any other item of non-perishable food. We are delivering our contributions on Friday. A big thank you for every item - every little bit helps.
