    Y6 Shakespeare Festival

Today, Y6 were joined by a fabulous turnout of parents and grandparents, who came to join their 'Shakespeare Festival'.

Y6 have been working on a topic called 'Treading the Boards', which has involved work on Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'. Today's festival included a modern adaptation of the play, which the children had written, performed with a shadow puppet show. Parents were also treated to performances of soliloquies,  a lesson in Elizabethan dancing and grilled with a Shakespeare quiz!

Thank you to all who attended! Please see the class pages for films of the puppet show, soliloquies and dancing!

    Run 4 the World

R4TW is a fun, family event which is taking place on Morecambe promenade on Saturday 16th May. It includes a 1km, 5km and 10km event, all of which can be walked, jogged, run or even pushed (if you're in a pushchair!).

The event supports a number of charities, including those in our community and around the world. A registration fee and optional sponsorship are used to raise funds and everyone who signs up gets their own t-shirt.

There is a primary school prize, which will be awarded to the school with the most participants and everyone (children, staff and parents) all count towards our total.

Get involved and join our team on the prom on Saturday 16th May!

See the fliers in book bags or go to http://r4tw.org.uk/ for more details or to register.

It was so difficult to choose, we decided on 6 winners, who will all receive a free snack every day next week! Congratulations to Holly in 5G, who named out new snack bar 'Torrisholme Tuckers'!
