Pupil Parliament Day
Members of our School Council spent a day at the Vale of Lune, meeting councillors from other local schools and learning about refugees. It was a very informative and enjoyable day.
Movie Nights Send Totaliser Soaring!!
This week children enjoyed a series of movie nights, bringing their bean bags along and slurping ice lollies whilst enjoying either Alvin and the Chipmunks' Road Chip or Goosebumps! Believe it or not, these fundraisers added £950 to our totaliser, sending us very nearly up to £9000! What an amazing effort from all the staff, children and families involved.
Bake Off Winners Enjoy Afternoon Tea at The Midland!
Today, the winners of last week's Junior Bake Off were whisked off to The Midland Hotel for an afternoon tea treat!
We were met at the door like VIPs, by Brian, our tour guide. Brian took us on a tour of the hotel, showing us lots of the art work and telling us lots of information about the hotel, such as the fact that it was used as a hospital for burns victims during the war! We also found out about some of Morecambe's history, such as the monkey that used to live on the stone jetty!
We then enjoyed a feast of sandwiches, juice and lots of fabulous cakes, prepared by John, the pastry chef that judged our cakes!
After that, it was off to the stone jetty in search of that monkey!
Year 5 Robinwood Trip
Our Year 5 children spent a wonderful weekend at Robinwood activity centre, in Todmorden, where they spent three fun-filled, action packed days getting very wet, muddy and tired!
Connie's Hair Cut
One of our superstars, Connie, this morning had her hair cut off by Mrs Penney and Mr Gittins in assembly!
Connie, who came up with the idea to contribute to our cancer charity fund-raising campaign, has raised over £500 in sponsorship, with donations coming in from parents, children and staff across the whole school.
In addition to raising such an amazing amount of money, Connie is also donating her two beautiful plaits to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs fro children who have lost their hair during cancer treatment. What an amazingly kind and selfless think to do. We are so proud of her.
See class 6T's page to see the video of the moment Connie's hair was cut!
Junior Bake Off
What an amazing day we have had at school today! We are absolutely overwhelmed by the fantastic efforts of our families in today's Junior Bake Off competition! Thank goodness we had an expert judge, John, the pastry chef from the Midland Hotel, who chose the winners!
Children winning the star prize in each age group will be taken for afternoon tea at The Midland, prepared by John himself, next week.
