Torrisholme Time Travellers
This week, the whole school is enjoying a themed week focused upon history.
In Reception, the children have been learning about key events in their own lifetimes, creating some wonderful photo timelines.
In Key Stage 1, the children will be taking it in turns to spend a day with each teacher, learning about different historical topics. These will include 'The Titanic', 'The Great Fire of London', the history of transport and 'Morecambe Now and Then'.
In Key Stage 2, the children are all learning about the Mayan Civilisation.
Year 3 and Year 4 are working together, learning about the lives of Mayan children and the different gods that the Mayan people believed in.
Year 5 and Year 6 are also working together, learning about Mayan society and culture, Mayan writing, the different gods the Mayan people believed in and using their history skills to examine evidence.
Please see class pages for more details. Be aware that your children will have been working in different classes, so they may appear on more than one page!

Children's University Launch
Children in Year 5 enjoyed a fun filled launch of our Children's University programme.
The children enjoyed taster sessions from a number of different learning destinations, including 315, More Music Morecambe, Regent Park Studios and PDSA.

Hotspot Prize Winners
We have had two 'Hot Spot Days over the past week. All the children who are in their line, ready to go into school at 8.55am, collect a raffle ticket on each Hot Spot Day.
In Monday's assembly, Mrs Penney drew out a winning ticket from each class and each winner was able to choose a prize.
All the children's tickets have now been entered into a big draw to win a star prize at half term.
Remember - you've got to be in it to win it! Watch out for more Hot Spot Days coming soon!
People Who Help Us!
Children in Reception enjoyed a super dressing up day today, to celebrate the end of their topic on 'People Who Help Us'. This has included lots of different visitors. See the Reception page for more details.
