Year 3 Morrisons Visit
As part of their 'Master Chef' Year 3 went on a trip to Morrisons. We saw behind the scenes in the bakery, the butchers, the fish bar and the deli counter and had the opportunity to try all sorts of goodies and learn skills such as jamming donuts and making sausages! A big thank you to all the staff at Morrisons for making us so welcome! ![]()
Foodbank Friday and Harvest Collection
A big thank you to everyone who brought in food for our collection. We collected a total of 136.8kg of food for the Foodbank, which was gratefully received.
The children enjoyed a fabulous assembly with Debbie Green, which was all about loaves and fish feeding 5000. A very fitting theme!
Year 6 Do Robinwood!!
Year 6 had a brilliant weekend at Robinwood on their residential visit. Highlights included a jam packed timetable of exciting activities, fantastic food, great team work and Mr Gittins setting off the fire alarms whilst enjoying a hot shower!!
Robin Wood Update
Year 6 are having a fabulous time here at Robin Wood!
We arrived yesterday to be greeted by glorious sunshine and after a quick lunch and checking into our dorms, got cracking with a host of exciting activities.
Groups have been climbing, caving, have braved the dungeon of doom, the giant swing and the piranha pool, survived a blindfolded assault course and scaled the heights of the trapeze and the crate challenge.
After a tea of fish fingers, pizza and choc ices, the activities continued until some very sleepy looking children headed to their rooms at 10pm.
Everyone slept to some degree and the children were raring to go this morning with another round of activities, including groups hitting the lake for canoeing and raft building.
We have tried and failed to upload masses of photos! It turns out the wifi in an old castle is not the best!! We promise to upload them quickly on our return!
Curriculum Evenings
It was great to see so many parents at last week's Curriculum Evenings. We hope you found them helpful.
We have added Mrs Penney's presentation on changes to the assessments system to the website in the 'Useful Information' part of the 'Parents' section.
Foodbank Friday Harvest Collection
This Friday, we are holding our first 'Foodbank Friday' of the new school year, which will coincide with our harvest celebrations on Monday 5th October.
We have worked hard to support Morecambe Bay Foodbank over the past year, by holding monthy collections and fund raising events. The Foodbank and its volunteers do a fantastic job, providing regular food parcels for 3000 local people, including 1000 children.
If you are able to make a donation of any item of non-perishable food, please send it in to school with your child on Friday and it will be collected by the Foodbank to help local families.
The Foodbank are currently especially short of jars of pasta sauce, instant hot chocolate, long life milk and fruit juice, sponge puddings and instant custard.
